Shira Chertoff Memorial Fund
When Shira Chertoff was asked what she loved about her work at OHRA, she responded, “Just being able to help people. I love making their day better and making them smile. I leave work feeling good and humble; happier for the most part too.”

Remembering Shira Rachel Rose Chertoff
Shira was a fierce advocate and friend of the homeless. She was a resident of Ashland, Oregon, and a longtime volunteer at OHRA, which supports the unhoused and others struggling with economic instability. At the beginning of Covid, Shira became a full-time staff member at OHRA – a dream come true for her. She treated everyone with dignity, grace, and humor, engendering trust and lifting spirits as she provided every resource available to those in need.
To honor Shira’s memory and the work that was so important to her, please consider making a contribution to OHRA. Your donation will help carry her work – and her life – forward.
